TREASURER
Welcome to the web site of the Lyon County
Treasurer. It is our goal to provide you with the information
you need to contact us and to conduct business with this
office. There are four main areas of operation for the
Treasurer’s office. They are:
-
The collection of property taxes for all real estate, mobile
homes and special assessments in Lyon County. We administer
the Iowa Property Tax Program, Elderly Tax Credit Program,
conduct the annual tax sale for the collection of delinquent
taxes and answer inquiries concerning taxes. You may pay your
taxes online at
www.iowatreasurers.org.
-
The Treasurer's Office is also responsible for financial
administration, banking services, cash management and
investments for the county. We manage about $23 million per
year in receipts, distribution of collections to schools,
cities and all other taxing agencies.
-
The U. S. Dept. of State has authorized the tax dept. of the
Treasurer's office to accept passport applications on their
behalf. U.S. citizens may apply for their passports
during our normal
hours (see below). Visit the official website -
www.travel.state.gov -
for application forms, documentation required, fees and other
valuable information.
It is our goal to provide quality and
courteous customer service to the residents of Lyon County and
to anyone doing business with any of the departments of the Lyon
County Treasurer’s Office.
Sincerely,

|

Richard Heidloff,
Lyon County Treasurer
