The mission of Lyon County Mental Health Services is to make available comprehensive services to all eligible individuals in order that they have the opportunity to make choices that enable them to reach their highest potential level of mental and physical health and personal integration.  This is accomplished through the use of community-based services, which are cost effective and uniquely coordinated.

Lyon Co. Mental Health is Located in the Annex Building on Highway 9 in Rock Rapids

LYON COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES PROGRAMS

ELIGIBILITY FOR SERVICES

 

  • You must be a "legal resident" of Lyon County

  • You must have a covered diagnosis (including Mental Illness, Chronic Mental Illness, Mental Retardation and Other Developmental Disabilities)

  • You must be without private insurance or funds to pay for services independently

  • You must be in need of mental health services and service coordination

  • You must complete the application process (you must complete an application and receive service authorization before services are initiated, except in case of an emergency*.)

* The county acknowledges that is is the primary responsibility of any agency providing mental health services to protect and preserve their client's privacy.  Lyon County makes every effort to adhere to the confidentiality laws as set forth by the State of Iowa.

Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities Services shall be provided in the least restrictive, most cost-effective manner, which is in the best interest of the consumer.  Some of those services include (but are not limited to):

  • Targeted Case Management

  • Supported Community Living/Community Support Programs

  • Day Treatment Services

  • Out-Patient Counseling

  • In-Patient Hospitalization

  • Vocational Assessment/Support

  • Residential Living Arrangements
