The Lyon County Sheriff's Office provides investigation, protection, and prevention of crime in Lyon County through many means including:  SRT - SWAT Team, Narcotics Investigation, Jail Services, Reserve Officer Program, Canine Units, and the 911 Communication Center.

We participate in several organizations working cooperatively including:  Northwest Iowa Drug Task Force, Law Enforcement Intelligence Network, and the Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center.

LAW ENFORCEMENT PROGRAMS & SERVICES

D.A.R.E. - Drug Abuse Resistance Education  A drug prevention educational program taught at schools throughout Lyon County.

Project Safe Return - An armband program used on Alzheimer's patients in the event that they get lost.

Project Lifesaver - A program where a tracking device is put on a loved one that tends to wander off.  If they do go missing -- special equipment is used to locate them.

Project Kid Care - A free photo registration program to assist in locating missing children.
